The anti-war message hit a responsive chord in a weary working class tired of sending it's best and brightest to die for an obscure jingoistic cause. The performances were planed for most of the month of May 1952, however agent provocateurs linked to the FBI and the American Legion disrupted the tenth presentation. The proletariat backlash erupted into the infamous Akron Rubber Riots.
